Hi! I just discovered your site through the PlanetGreen article. I spend my time at Appropedia, which has a lot of overlap with Gardenology. We have pages about permaculture, lazy gardening, water management (mulching and swales) and the like, and specific crops, but with more of a sustainability and development angle. Save the planet, feed the world.
I'm extremely happy to see that you're use Creative Commons BY-SA, same as us, so we can share content back and forth between our wikis as appropriate. I think there are a lot of pages on each wiki that could be used to start something on the other wiki; we also have permission to use a lot more content that we still have to convert to wiki markup.
One thing that would be great for both our sites would be to add each other to our interwiki maps, so that the Appropedia:Permaculture would point to an Appropedia page (similar to Wikibooks:Cookbook & Wikihow:Garden). You might be aware that this removes the "nofollow" tag, so it gives a boost to trusted sites.

| Hi Chris, I love the idea behind Appropedia. So many really helpful wikis still need to be built covering various topics. And you're right, with the Creative Commons license, both wikis benefit from the content of each other. I would really like Gardenology.org to take a very sustainable approach to gardening, and help spread ideas like ripping out the front lawn and putting in a veggie patch. I find a vegetable garden so much more beautiful and interesting than a patch of grass that nobody ever sits on. I'm also happy if content from Gardenology.org gets transfered to Appropedia, and encourages more people to garden. Interwiki links would be beneficial to both of us, so let's figure out how to add those. Talk soon!

yes, rip out the lawn...and the ornamentals! :-) Sorry, I love plants, but I'm extremely biased towards things that can be eaten, except for small amounts of spectacular colors and smells, like roses and freesias!
Tech stuff: You were very quick working out the interwiki link - thank you! We'll get our interwiki map updated up in a week or two (our tech person is in a remote part of Mexico now). Now thinking about how we can do some initial cross-linking...
