According to J. H. Maiden, the pod, as originally described, was that of A. Maidenii, and the error seems to have been copied into subsequent publications. —This is often confused with A. Maidenii, but that species is less pubescent, has a much-twisted pod, and red funicles almost encircling seeds. It is known as the Coast Myall.
