	Many of you have no doubt ~~hear~~ of or seen a [[Community garden]]. If not, they're simply a public space where people are allotted (usually small) parcels of land to grow plants in, side-by-side. These tend to be an urban phenomena, as an outlet for apartment/condo dwellers to get some dirt under their fingernails, and have a garden. 	There is pent-up demand for these gardens, because usually local governments don't provide as much space for them as there is a demand for. There is a proposal in Santa Monica, California, to turn to owners of private homes with gardens, to allow others to use their front, or even backyards as community gardens. I see so many unused front yards, which could be overflowing with green plants, [[flower]]s and [[vegetable]]s, if people who love to garden were allowed to be their guardians. This would be an official city program to match up those with the unused gardens with gardeners who would love the space.
