New page

This picture is not of Acacia melanoxylon. Axaxia melanoxylon, generally known as Blackwood, does not have bipinnate leaves. The leaves in A.melanoxylon are replaced by leaf-like phyllodes. In A.melanoxytlon the phyllodes appear as simple leaves with 3 to 4 parallel veins.

This image looks to me to be very like Acacia decurrens, known as the Sydney Black Wattle. This species has the same masses of bright yellow flower balls and dark bipinnate foliage and flowers in the early spring.
