A famous wood so named is that of &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Dalbergia melanoxylon&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, in English &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[African Blackwood|African blackwood]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; and in East Africa known as  &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;mpingo&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;). It is used for making [[musical instrument]]s, mainly the [[oboe]], the [[flute]], the [[piccolo]], the [[clarinet]], the [[recorder]], and the [[Great Highland Bagpipe]].&lt;br /&gt;

Grenadilla is also used as an alternative name for the [[Passion fruit]].&lt;br /&gt;
