Shrub, 4-10 ft.: leaves deciduous, ovate to oblong-ovate, acuminate, l.5-2 in. long, remotely serrate, usually finely ciliate and hairy on midrib beneath, sometimes with scattered hairs above: fls. usually few at the end of short branchlets along last year's branches; sepals 1/3 in. long, oblong; corolla campanulate, 1 in. long, pink with yellow throat.
