Aloe virens, Haw. Lvs. curved, spreading, triangular, about 1 x 8 in., somewhat mottled or also lined, not warty, with rather distant, coarse, white, marginal teeth: infl. about 2 ft. high; fls. 1½-2 in. long, red, the tube longer than the paler green-tipped sometimes very short segm. Cape. B.M. 1355. Salm. Aloe §15, f. 8. Berger 62, 63. Journ. et FI. des Jard. 1832, 20.
