Ruellia humilis [1] (Fringeleaf wild petunia, Fringeleaf Ruellia, Hairy Ruellia, Low Ruellia; (syn. Ruellia ciliosa Pursh var. longiflora Gray, Ruellia humilis Nutt. var. calvescens Fern., Ruellia humilis Nutt. var. depauperata Tharp & Barkl., Ruellia humilis Nutt. var. expansa Fern., Ruellia humilis Nutt. var. frondosa Fern., and Ruellia humilis Nutt. var. longiflora (Gray) Fern.) is an ornamental plant [2] native of Cerrado vegetation of Brazil, and the United States, where it is endangered. This plant is cited in Flora Brasiliensis by Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius.
