Summary

A floss silk tree, Ceiba spp. (Ceiba speciosa, Ceiba chodattii), known in Spanish as palo borracho ("drunken trunk"). This is a small, young individual, showing an intensely green bark that allows it to perform photosynthesis even without leaves.

I, Pablo D. Flores, took this picture myself in a corner of Rosario, Argentina, in September 2005 (near the end of winter).
