Senecio heritieri, DC. A low suffruticose perennial, seldom more than 1 ft. high: st. ascending or erect, at first white-tomentose, later glabrate: lvs. petiolate, suborbicular, 1/2 – 1 3/4 in. broad, 5-7-lobed, araneous-tomentulose in the young stages above but soon glabrate, densely and permanently white-tomentose beneath: heads radiate, mostly solitary on an elongated nearly naked peduncle; ray-fls. about 13, rays purple. Teneriffe. B.M. 53 (as Cineraria lanata). G.C. III. 50:333.— First brought into cult. about 1793. CH
