Tithonia diversifolia, Gray (Mirasolia diversifolia, Hemsl.). Large shrub with rather stout branches, glabrous or nearly so: lvs. petioled, membranaceous, glabrous or puberulent, ovate or almost orbicular, entire or 3-5-lobed, 9x6 in., crenate: heads orange, up to 6 in. diam., terminal or lateral, usually in 3's, on short thickened peduncles: achenes club-shaped. S. Mex. and Guatemala. CH
