Adiantum platyphyllum, Swartz. Lvs. 1-2 ft. long, stalks black, glossy, If.-blades 6-12 in. long, 2-4 in. broad, with a long terminal pinna and 3-6 pairs of lateral pinnae; lowest pinnaj sometimes pinnately divided; segm. 3-4 in. long, 1 1/2-2 in. broad; sporangia in nearly continuous line along the margin.
